Watching - Why Every Believer Should Understand the Times

Watching - Why Every Believer Should Understand the Times

Yeshua did not tell us to predict. He told us to watch.

That distinction matters more than most believers realize. The modern prophecy industry has built an empire on prediction - specific dates, specific sequences, specific players on the world stage mapped onto a theological grid built mostly in the nineteenth century. And for over 170 years those predictions have consistently failed to materialize exactly as described. Yet the industry rolls on, each failed prediction quietly replaced by a new one, the audience none the wiser.

That is not what Yeshua had in mind when He said watch.

Watching is something different. Watching is the patient, informed, Scripture grounded practice of paying attention to the world around you through the lens of the Word of Yehovah. It is not about having all the answers. It is about knowing the patterns well enough that when things begin to unfold you can recognize them and know what comes next.

Think of it like weather. A farmer who understands seasons, cloud patterns, and wind direction is not a prophet. He is an observer. He does not know exactly when the storm will arrive. But he is never completely surprised by it either. He has done the work of paying attention.

That is what this section of Vigilant Faith is about.

What We Know For Certain

Some things in Scripture are not negotiable or mysterious. Yeshua is returning. There will be a period of unprecedented tribulation before that return. The nation of Israel is central to the prophetic story. The appointed times of Yehovah - the Moedim - are a prophetic roadmap embedded in the calendar of creation itself. The spring feasts were fulfilled in Yeshua's first coming with stunning precision. The fall feasts almost certainly point to events surrounding His return.

These are not fringe positions. These are the plain testimony of Scripture read on its own terms without the filter of nineteenth century dispensationalism or replacement theology.

What We Hold With Humility

Beyond those anchors there is a great deal of room for honest disagreement among serious students of Scripture. The precise sequence of end times events. The identity of specific players and nations. The timing of particular judgments. The nature of the resurrection and the gathering of believers.

On these things Vigilant Faith will present perspectives, frameworks, and observations - not pronouncements. When I share a view I will tell you why I hold it and what evidence points toward it. I will also tell you where I am uncertain and where I have changed my mind. Because the truth is my prophetic perspective has shifted more than once as I have gone deeper into Scripture and as world events have cast new light on ancient texts.

That is not weakness. That is faithfulness to the text over faithfulness to a system.

An Invitation to Watch Together

What I am inviting you into is not a prophecy club with secret knowledge. It is a community of watchers - believers who take Yeshua's command seriously enough to do the work of paying attention. To study the patterns. To track current events through a biblical lens. To be neither panicked nor asleep.

When things begin to happen - and they will - the watcher is not surprised. The watcher can say to those around them - here is what this means, here is what likely comes next, here is how we respond as covenant people of Yehovah.

That is the work of a watchman. Not prophecy. Not prediction. Faithful, humble, informed observation - and the courage to speak what you see.

Come watch with me.

"But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night." - 1 Thessalonians 5:1-2
