Every journey has a starting point.

For the disciple of Yeshua that starting point is the same regardless of where you came from, how long you have been in church, or how much Bible you have read. It begins with an honest reckoning with a simple truth - you are a sinner in need of a Savior.

Not a good person who makes mistakes. Not someone who just needs a little improvement. A sinner. Someone whose nature, apart from the grace of Yehovah, is bent away from Him and toward self. That is not an insult - it is a diagnosis. And like any diagnosis, the first step toward healing is acknowledging what you are dealing with.

That is where Yeshua meets us. Not at the top of the mountain after we have cleaned ourselves up. At the bottom, in the dirt, exactly as we are.

But that is only the beginning.

Discipleship is not a moment - it is a lifelong journey of transformation. From that first honest acknowledgment of sin and need, Yehovah begins the slow and sometimes painful work of conforming us into the image of His Son. That is the destination - not perfection in this life, but genuine growth in maturity of spirit, walking as Yeshua walked, loving what He loved, obeying what He commanded.

That is what this section of Vigilant Faith is dedicated to. Not religion. Not behavior modification. Not a checklist of rules to follow. But the ancient path of genuine discipleship - rooted in Torah, grounded in covenant, and walking in the footsteps of the Master.
